Boatmen progress in the Southampton Senior Cup after a big win over Hampshire League Div 1 side, Hedge End Town. Jake Cope scored a hat-trick and all the recent new signings also found the scoresheet.
Team News : A chance to rest some players and give those returning from injury & illness a run-out, as well as the new faces who have joined us in the last few weeks. Good to see Rob Flooks back after a hamstring injury and Dan Miller, who took the captain's armband.
10 mins : Luka Chalwell was played into the area and he slotted past the keeper.
13 mins : After a bit of a scramble, the ball looped up to the far post where George Milner-Smith nodded in.
26 mins : Fareed Saidu Salifu broke into the area and passed the ball into the bottom corner.
30 mins : Brad Targett raced past the full back and cut in from the left before curling a beautiful shot into the far top corner. Brad was then substituted with Sam Mould coming on.
35 mins : Mathias Tepe did well to keep the ball in and as he spun into the box, was tripped for a penalty. Mathias hit an unstoppable spot kick into the top corner.
38 mins : Rob Flooks rose highest to head over the keeper.
40 mins : Second yellow for a Hedge End Player to reduce them to 10 men.
45 mins : Ball was layed off to Jake Cope on the edge of the box and he drilled past the keeper.
Half Time : 7-0
46 mins : Hesketh & Chalwell came off with Fin Du Port & Ryan Harfield taking their place for the restart.
49 mins : Dan Miller powered in a header from 10 yards
53 mins : Jake Cope might have had a penalty when he was fouled on the line, but it didn't matter as he curled the freekick on the edge of the box past a rooted keeper.
56 mins : A fantastic defence splitting crossfield pass by Fin Du Port released Jake Cope to complete his hat-trick
78 mins : After the ball hit the inside of the far post and bounced down near the line, Ryan Harfield was there to knock in.
